About Parker-

The way that Parker Archie Moore lived his life is a testament to his faith. The impact his life has had on others is what has made his loss so unbearably great. He was a young man that transcended social barriers because of his genuine love and concern for others. To paraphrase the comments at his memorial service by Joe Smith, Linfield College Head Coach, Parker was the total package. A young man that every father wants his son to grow up to be. A man of  character, his word was his bond. A man of action. He was a worker that loved the grind. Teddy Roosevelt was writing about Parker when he penned the “man in the arena”. A true leader. Some people are born with a magnetic personality and strength of personality, that draws people to them. Parker was that man. Parker embodied the compassionate warrior. He was STRONG in ALL the best ways. Now besides being a man of action Parker could talk. And he was funny. He had that gift of timely wit. Since he cared about people he GOT people. He knew what would be funny and would interest others and he would go with it. His positivity was contagious.  When God welcomed Parker we like to believe that he said “Well done Mr. Moore”.

We hope you can join us for this fantastic day of golf in honor of Parker.  For sponsorship opportunities and individual player registration please see the sponsorship tab above where you can sign up online or download our brochure.  We are excited to see you soon!

Parker Archie Moore is an amazing young man and we feel an indescribable and immeasurable loss after his 20 years with us. He had the biggest heart. He was a loyal friend. He was quick to smile, and intuitively seemed to know when it was especially needed. He had many, many friends – his friends crossed all groups – knew no bounds, no exclusions. He made many feel they were his BEST friend. He was an athlete with many accomplishments, a student with an appetite to learn and man of thought. His integrity was the same in all settings and situations. He didn’t change who he was to fit in or win someone over. He was always genuinely himself – comfortable and confident in who he was. People found him easy to connect with. The legacy of Parker Archie Moore is unending and expanding. A tangible aspect of Parker’s legacy is the opportunity to support educational scholarships for students that exemplify his qualities, characteristics and interests. We are filled with hope that paying it forward will amplify, multiply and proliferate his impact.

PARKER STRONG – Parker Archie Moore Memorial Fund Update

We want to sincerely thank you for contributing generously to the Parker Archie Moore Memorial Scholarship Fund and keep you updated on the impact of your gifts. Over this past year, we are amazed by your generosity – cash gifts, another Parker’s 3.5 mile Run in McMinnville, a golf event and continuous support for us. We are humbled, broken and deeply appreciative of all this as it honors Parker.

The purpose of the Fund is to make meaningful educational scholarships to students that exemplify the characteristics of Parker. Our desire and request to the recipients is that they look for ways “to pay it forward” in their lives thereby expanding the impact. At this writing, almost $120,000 has been contributed to the Fund. The grants to date have been:
1.$5,000 scholarship grant in spring 2014 for a student athlete.
2.$400 scholarship in April 2015 to Woodinville High School DECA to support a specific student that needed support to attend the DECA International competition.
3.Two $10,000 scholarships were awarded in spring 2015 to Woodinville High School students Jacob Green and Taylor Bingea.
4.$10,000 scholarship is posted and will be awarded in spring 2016 for a Woodinville High School student.
5.$62,500 grant in 2015 to the Linfield College Endowment in Parker’s name to provide annual scholarships in perpetuity.
6.$1,000 donation to New Horizons a ministry to homeless teens in the Seattle area (Hayley volunteers there).
$1,000 donation for Camp Erin (through the Moyer Foundation) which runs camps for children to grieve and heal from a significant loss.
7.$1,000 donation to Charity Water which is a program that Parker gave to through Eastlake Church to bring clean water to people that have that basic need.

This is just incredible and we believe that it represents Parker’s life of living with purpose, action, in the moment, caring and loving others…. with that big bright smile.

Thank you,
Doug, Julee and Hayley Moore
